The cognitive exam is split into five content areas: Content Area They are unmarked, so you will not know which questions are scored and which are unscored. The 35 unscored questions are used to evaluate questions for future versions of the exam. The cognitive exam contains 135 multiple-choice questions, 35 of which are unscored, and you will be given a time limit of 2 hours and 15 minutes. The AEMT exam is itself comprised of a cognitive exam and a psychomotor exam, both of which must be passed in order to pass the AEMT exam.
